Hello Happy Hoppers,

It's an exciting time of year with our upcoming picnic, lessons and first dance of the season!

Our annual Happy Hoppers Picnic is coming up quickly, and we’re excited to gather, share food, and enjoy time together. Here are a few important updates to help everyone prepare.

🌻 Picnic & Potluck Planning

We’re trying something new this year with our website-based potluck sign-up sheet. If you haven’t already, please visit the picnic event page and mark:

• That you’re attending

• What you plan to bring

• Any supplies you’re able to provide (tables, canopies, plates, utensils, etc.)

Several members already have key items—if you’re one of them, simply mark yourself as bringing those items so the list stays complete.

If you prefer email instead of the website, you may reply directly to this message with what you plan to bring, and we’ll add it for you.

👥 Picnic Guests

Members are welcome to bring spouses or invited guests. This is not an open dance for the full council, and we are not advertising it publicly. It remains a Happy Hoppers member event, with invited guests welcome at your discretion.

🚗 Picnic Carpool Updates

Carpools are listed on the website, and several are already full. If your plans change, please update your carpool status so others can join or adjust.

🌐 Website & Weekly Digest

You may have noticed our new Weekly Digest email! This replaces the old Telegram and Facebook Happy Hoppers Students & Members announcements and goes out automatically to every Happy Hopper, whether or not they use the website. It includes:

• Upcoming events

• Flyers

• Carpool options

• Links to RSVP

When more Hoppers click “Going,” it encourages others to join in and share rides!

📚 Lessons & First Dance of the Season

We’re only a few weeks away from:

• New dancer lessons starting soon on September 8

• Our first No-Experience Dance on September 13

We already have 12 pre-registered interested students, and more inquiries are coming in every week. If you know someone who might enjoy learning to square dance, please send them to our lesson Pre-registration/interest form:  Register Your Interest! — Happy Hoppers | Happy Hoppers

We have lesson ads running on multiple online platforms, making it easy for new dancers to find us and sign up. 👉 https://happyhoppers.org/lessons/ads

More details will be shared shortly, but please mark your calendars—we’re gearing up for a great season. Join the lessons - Angels are always free! Recruit your friends, families and acquaintances!

Every flyer and event for the full 2026–2027 dance year is now published:

📚 Stop by the Marysville Library!

💬 Need Help With the Website?

If you’re still getting used to the new site, that’s completely normal. Feel free to reach out for help navigating events, potluck sign-ups, or carpool tools. We’re all learning together, and the more we use it, the easier it becomes.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the picnic and kicking off a wonderful season of dancing, learning, and community.
